Leaf Peeping in Cuyahoga Valley
Visiting Cuyahoga Valley National Park came as a surprise. When the opportunity came up to visit this park, I just got to grab it. At times, you have to go with the flow and enjoy the moment. A second chance is hard to come by once you pass on the opportunity.
A long drive to Ohio seemed short. I also drove halfway, a good way to get used to driving again in an unfamiliar place. After holding the steering wheel for an hour or so, you get the hang of it again. Also, I don’t get a chance to drive this long often as we are more careful using a car nowadays. People are more aware to look up the prices at gas stations. Some states have lower gas prices. After about 6 hours, we arrived at a historic house in Cuyahoga Valley late in the evening. It is a comfortable place. We took a hot shower and went into our own room.
For many, visiting National Parks in the United States is their obsession. The U.S. has 60 National Parks. As I was preparing breakfast, I talked to another guest and found out that this is his 40th National Parks visit. As for me, I’m just starting up and this was the second one this year.
We took the bike on the first day and started off at one end of the train station. Unfortunately, the train service wasn’t working. So, we started from there and went as far as we could. Beautiful scenery and also flat all the way. Great for families doing this activity. We thought we could take the train to one side and ride our way back, but the train was out of service. So, we started off at the spot and it turned out to be scenic. Riding along Ohio and Erie river most of the day.
