Christmas in Cádiz

After a few months in Cádiz with room mates — Julia and Paulina — Christmas was finally approaching. The on and off measures of the pandemic laid a mark of uncertainties ahead of us. I have spent many Christmas alone for many years and this year would be one again. I decided to stay here for Christmas although I didn’t have family around. , I was comfortable hanging around in a city that was still new to me. My room mates went back home for Christmas: Paulina left for Essen and Julia left for Schwerte in Germany. However, they did something special — leaving goodies wrapped (regalitos) to be opened every day until Christmas Day. It was my first experience to receive this small gifts and it made a difference of being by myself there.

Although I didn’t have family living in this city, I had friends that I hang around in the mercadillo on Sundays. It became a next to the main post office.
