I got a chance to visit recently, One summer I ventured there by bike coming from Delta d’Ere to Tortosa and from there taking the Via Verde. I’m endeared by the landscape landscape of Terra Alta is

the landscape of Terra Alta wine region. Vall Excels Terra Alta 2016 is a red wine produced by Celler Piñol, a winery located in the Terra Alta DO (Designation of Origin) in Catalonia, Spain. The Terra Alta region is known for producing a variety of high-quality wines, and red wines from this region often feature the Grenache (Garnacha) grape variety, among others.

Located in the southern part of Catalonia, Terra Alta is characterized by its diverse terrain, including high plateaus and valleys. The vineyards in Terra Alta are situated at higher altitudes, contributing to the region's unique climate and terroir.

Terra Alta has a Mediterranean climate with hot summers and mild winters. The diurnal temperature variation, with warm days and cool nights, contributes to grape ripening and flavor development.

It is also known for cultivating both indigenous and international grape varieties. Garnacha Blanca (White Grenache) is a prominent white grape variety, while Garnacha Tinta (Grenache) and Carignan are commonly grown red grape varieties.
