The trail from Refugi Ventosa i Calvell to Refugi Estany Llong is a stunning high-mountain route in Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici National Park, characterized by rugged granite landscapes, alpine lakes, and dramatic Pyrenean scenery. The path begins with a steady ascent over rocky terrain before crossing the Collado de Contraix (2,748m), the most challenging section due to its steep, boulder-strewn slopes. After reaching the pass, a long and technical descent follows, leading to the picturesque Estany de Contraix and eventually into greener, gentler valleys. The final stretch meanders through alpine meadows and forests, descending toward Refugi Estany Llong, nestled by the tranquil lake of the same name.
