Chassagne-Montrachet

Being here makes me not leave. We slowed down and just absorbed the beauty of this place.

Chassagne-Montrachet is one of Burgundy’s most celebrated appellations, revered globally for its exceptional Chardonnay and unique terroir. Nestled in the Côte de Beaune, it forms part of the “Golden Triangle” of Chardonnay alongside Puligny-Montrachet and Meursault. Known for its limestone-rich soils, Chassagne-Montrachet produces Chardonnay wines with a luxurious combination of richness, minerality, and balanced acidity. Its grand cru sites, like Montrachet, Bâtard-Montrachet, and Criots-Bâtard-Montrachet, yield some of the world’s most complex and age-worthy white wines. While Chardonnay dominates, the appellation also produces limited quantities of high-quality Pinot Noir, especially on lower slopes, which are appreciated for their elegance and red fruit profile. Chassagne-Montrachet represents Burgundy’s profound commitment to terroir, crafting wines that embody both luxury and the unique character of the region’s landscape and climate.
