Taking the Back Trail
Biking the back trails is an immersion into the natural symphony that surrounds us. As you pedal along, the soothing rustle of leaves, the gentle gurgling of streams, and the melodic chirping of birds become your soundtrack. It's an auditory delight that reconnects you with the Earth's rhythms.
Here in Tangley Oaks, we’re lucky to have one. It seems that I’m the only one using it. It doesn’t really matter if I see somebody doing it. I wish someone would do so that I can share my experience with this person. At this time of the season, the rustle of leaves while going along the trail is something to experience.
The back trails engage all your senses. The vibrant colors of the leaves, the earthy smell, the refreshing taste of the crisp, clean air—it's a sensory overload that invigorates the soul. Each turn of the trail reveals a new sensory wonder, awakening a childlike curiosity.
I’m thrilled to take our back trail in our backyard. It is so convenient.
Biking the back trails provides a sense of freedom and adventure. The winding paths, muddy terrain, and it is getting to be predictable after so many times of doing it. Still, it is challenging where there is a change of weather. After the rain, biking on the trail still proves to be challenging. Slipping throws me off balance, but I’m getting used to it. It's a chance to test your limits, conquer obstacles, and discover new challenges with every ride.
The solitude of the back trails is a treasure. It's an opportunity to escape the noise of the world and find moments of introspection. The stillness of the woods can be a respite for the mind, allowing thoughts to flow freely and find clarity.
Back trail biking often brings encounters with wildlife. Whether it's a deer grazing in a meadow, a squirrel darting across the path, or a bird of prey soaring overhead, these encounters remind us of our place in the natural world. It's a humbling experience that fosters a sense of interconnectedness.
Biking the back trails offers a welcome break from screens and notifications. It's a chance to unplug and be fully present in the moment. The absence of technology allows for genuine human connection, both with oneself and with others on the ride.
