Life's uncertainties often lead us to unexpected paths. They push us beyond our comfort zones and spark change. The Covid pandemic made many reassess their lives and seek new experiences.
For me, this time became an opportunity for change. During the lockdown, a lot of us had been shaken to the core in different ways. Situations lead us to make drastic changes either we like it or not. Me, having to move out from El Masnou had allowed me to look for possibilities. One summer weekend escapade led to a conversation with a friend and since he fell in love with San Fernando, next town to Cádiz city and suggested to check it out. I kind of played with that idea, after looking into it, I opted to go for Cádiz city. At that time, there was more availability of apartments around because Cadiz University had opened doors for foreign students. So, Cádiz city had become a shelter during the instability of Covid pandemic, although they got hit by remote learning a number of times during their academic studies.
I approached Cádiz with an open mind, without specific expectations. This mindset allowed me to fully immerse myself in the experience. The journey was enriching, helping me connect with new people and broaden my cultural horizons in southern Spain.
Reflecting on this journey, I consider embracing similar adventures in the future—exploring new territories and living more spontaneously. The prospect is uncertain yet exciting, and it's something I find increasingly intriguing as I look ahead.
