Biking in the snow
Riding a bicycle in the snow is a unique and adventurous experience. As you pedal through the snow-covered landscape, there's a serene and almost magical atmosphere. The world around you is transformed into a winter wonderland, with snow-covered trees, glistening snowflakes, and a quiet hush in the air
Backyard Trail
No matter what I’m doing, I reverberate to going outside and connect to nature. The tranquility to be out there. Luckily, I don’t get to see people.
Get on it again
After more than a week in Los Angeles, it’s great to be back here in Lake Bluff riding again. It’s sunny, but chilly. I’m getting used to biking in cold weather even when it’s snowing.
Out of Comfort Zone
Out of comfort zone cycling, then, becomes a metaphor for embracing the uncertainties that life presents, confronting them head-on, and discovering untapped potential within oneself.
Taking the Back Trail
Each ride is an opportunity to reconnect with the environment, explore the unknown, and rediscover the joys of living in the present moment. So, grab your bike and embark on an unforgettable journey along the back trails, where every pedal stroke brings you closer to the essence of joy and the soul of nature.
Ideas for 2024 Bike Tour
We all have something to look forward for our next adventure. It is the planning that sparks our life, although things can change at the last minute. Exploring France by bike is still the top on my list. I like the rivers and the countryside of France, overall, and it is top with food and wine. Also, its easy access to campsites that make bike touring exciting.
Lyón in 2023
Lyon, nestled at the confluence of the Rhône and Saône rivers in east-central France, is a city steeped in history, charm, and gastronomic excellence. Its UNESCO-listed Old Town, Vieux Lyon, showcases medieval and Renaissance architecture, while the Presqu'île offers vibrant shopping streets and cultural institutions. Lyon is renowned as the gastronomic capital of France, boasting traditional bouchons and a rich culinary heritage, including iconic dishes like coq au vin. The city's silk industry history is reflected in the traboules, hidden passageways used for transporting silk. Lyon hosts cultural events such as the Festival of Lights and is home to institutions like the University of Lyon, making it a dynamic and appealing destination for tourists and residents alike.
Rest Day in Lyon
I didn't want to keep on going. I found a hostel that I was comfortable staying and convenient place to go in and out and also parking the bike in a storage room at night and at day time, there is parking space to go in and out. Located on the Rhône river, it is convenient to go to the center where there is a bike lane.
Crêches-sur-Saône, Trévoux to Lyon
On the way to Lyon was riding along the Rhône river. It was easy going at this time and what a change once I arrived in a big city.
